Where is the A/C sight glass?

I am trying to sort out an A/C issue. My intention is to check the sightglass and recharge the system.
However, I am missing one fundamental piece that I hope someone can help me with:

Where is the A/C sight glass on an L400?

I've got the service manual, but I just cant find where it is physically located. What do I have to remove to find it?

It's inbetween the battery and the back of the right headlight, to the right of the power steering reservoir. You can see it without removing anything.

Found it! Didn't help that it was covered in 2 inches of grime.
