No AC belt l400

Post by Exceedbrown »

On my way across USA to Ontario and my AC belt snapped got sucked into the crank pulley and dislodged both fan belts. Luckily I caught it and turned the engine off before overheat. Ford was closest mechanic however they snapped the tensioner bolt for the AC. Sourced two new closely matching fan belts but no luck with the AC belt tension. Can I run the vehicle with no AC belt or does this cause imbalance? Does the AC belt run any other things? Have been slumping along at 80km but am nervous because when I put lights etc on voltage meter will drop towards 12v come back up near 14v and go back down. With no lights seems to stay closer to 14v. Biggest thing can I run with no AC belt
Thanks

It was likely coincidence but I removed my AC belt and then either 1 or 2 weeks later the crank pulley seperated. Made me paranoid enough that when I replaced the crank pulley I put the AC belt back on...
