costco tires no go

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

costco tires no go

Post by Glenn Delwood »

Just a quick question. I just called Costco for some tires and they said because they don't have any specs on the vehicle (like an official manual, etc.) they wouldn't know what inflation to pump them up to or torque, so they would NOT install them for me. Where should I go to get tires? Who would mount tires for me if I bought them?
What ARE the specs? Does anyone have an "official" manual?
Thanks.

I had mine installed at Costco, they searched online, found specs that worked for them and then I just adjusted to my preference after.

I hate that so much. Its getting like that everywhere. I was at Kal Tire today trying to find a set of rims that will work for winters and had to deal with the damn make/model wall as well. Even giving them the bolt pattern, offset range and bore size they just stared blankly 'duhhhhh...sorry can't do anything without make and model and year derp derp..."

Whats the point of even having people if they can't do anything but what the computer/booklet make/model lookup tells them. The whole world is becoming Canadian Tire.

The horror...

The Langford Kal Tire (vanc. Island) sold me some rims and had no problems mounting them for me , I asked them to go by Montero specs for torques and they ordered the rims by the dia and offsets I asked for.

I'll try the Montero specs approach. Thank you all. They might still say "we don't want to be liable so we won't install them because this doesn't look anything like a Montero!" At which point I say "it's way deng cooler!"

I'll be back.

I had my tires done at Fountain Tire in Calgary where virtually nobody has heard of or even seen a Delica. First time was for my L300 and second time was for my L400. They even took the time to measure clearances for the larger tires (31x10.5 Duratracs) and didn't even question the make/model factor for fitment or inflation. I'm sure it would be the same in the Lower Mainland... if they want the business, they will make the effort...
