I woke up this morning at 8am, which means that the mayan's may have miscalculated their clocks. This is good, but this also means I have to press forward on my responsibilities...
The shudder/vibration that I have been feeling on the highway is on its way to being resolved. (i hope).. The other day while driving to work the shudder came back. As soon as I was in the lot I jumped out with my temp gun and checked the brake rotor temps. all around 15* C with the exception on the left rear clocking in at 120-145*C. I had in the last couple of weeks disassembled and cleaned all for rotors with the exception of removing the pistons. I figured if they were seizing it would be the slides not the piston. What I noticed this time is that because the pads were worn down so much, I suspect that the pistons are at the extreme end of their travel and could be corroded and allowing crud to seize them up. I ranged the pistons home and to full stroke carefully while the calipers were off the mounts about 10 times before re-installing. After it seemed to drive better that I have ever felt, more power, less resistance, and no shudder and all is right until... it started again yesterday
A call into lordco claims they can have a set of 94 montero 3.5 v6 calipers and pads for me tomorrow morning. Can anyone confirm that these will in fact fit the L400 both the pads and the calipers..
I have read on a local sellers site that the rear rotors do not match the L400/montero. Can this also be confirmed?
All help is appreciated
Rick

It is the front rotors that do not match. Hub size on a Delica is bigger. Rear is a match all around, front is a match for calipers and pads.

Thanks Craig, and I assume the montero rear rotors will be vented like the L400?

Thanks again. I really appreciate the quick responses. Funny, I typed a bunch of words into the search and read all 4 pages of the posts and for some reason I didnt see this thread. Maybe I missed it, maybe I need to learn how to search...
This is really good info to know, I may order a set of rotors just to see whether they are vented or not.

Let us know what you find. I have not actually replaced the back yet but I have put 3 new rotors and calipers on the front. It would be good to know because my van is always begging for money to be thrown at it, and I am sure these will pop up sometime soon.

Re: L400 Rear calipers/pads/rotors
Thanks again all. As I mentioned in another post, after changing out the rear calipers and pads, the vibration and excess heat is now gone. Thanks for the advice,
Rick
