Re: 1991 L300 cylinder head gasket
I bought a head gasket kit for an '85 dodge Ram 2.3 turbodiesel. This vehicle has a slightly smaller 4D55 engine compared to the 4D56 in our vans, but the difference is in stroke, not bore. From what I've found in my research is that the heads (early L300) are the same, and so is the gasket. I'm going to be swapping the gasket in the next few days and I can confirm then. I was able to get the full head kit which includes all the intake and exhaust gaskets and valve stem oil seals for $150 bucks.

I pulled my head today, and from what I can see the gasket is identical, and I'll be using the head gasket kit for the Dodge that I bought.
