starting problems

Post by delicawannabe2 »

Good morning,
Last night I had to jump start my van. I drove around for a bit and made a few stops and it stated up just fine. This morning when I tried to start it, it turned over but it seemed like the battery was dying out again. As it was an original battery I went out and bought a new one and installed it. The same thing happened and and now the van doesn't turn over at all, just a click. Any Ideas? Voltage regulator? Also, I can't hear the click from the glow plugs which leads me to believe it's strictly an electrical issue.

The glow plugs won't click if the battery doesn't have power and a new battery won't have power if the alternator isn't working. I would start there.

Get a boost and measure voltage across the battery terminals. Should be at least 14V. If not, alternator.
