Thought I would share the custom roof rack I designed and had built. Nothing super fancy but I was looking for a safari basket but didn't want it too high or long - I find most to be more than necessary. I also wanted it to carry shortboards (surfboards) so need a removable rack in the middle. I had a local welder take my dims and have it done in bare steel for $650 USD. I primed it and hit it with DupliColor truck bed liner.
I'll be putting a ladder up the side to make it more accessible. Looking forward to putting a sleeping pad up there for some summer nights.

That looks really good, as does the deli. Careful you don't roll off during the night!

Re: Custom Roof Rack
Nice!! Nice to see it on my computer other than Instagram! I want something like this as well, same with the middle part so I can carry a canoe. How much does it weigh? Is that 3/4" tubing you have it made from? Nice work!jpk503 wrote:Thought I would share the custom roof rack I designed and had built.
