Brake sticking - again.

My front caliper on my L400 drivers side seized up. I got a brake job. Then it happened again last year. Parts replaced under warranty. But I still had to pay for labour.

Now it is starting to stick again.

Grrrr.

Where are some good details on a DIY fix for this? I can't bring my deli into a shop anymore, but I do have access to a lift where I live, so I will tackle this myself.

All the googling I have been doing yields non-specific brake job advice. I am looking for something more Deli or Montero oriented.

I have been having the very same problem since I got my van. I have replaced three calipers and rotors, all on the front. Mine are starting to stick too so I think I am going to pull off the calipers, inspect pads, and grease the poop out of the slider pins again. I did this in the spring and it is already happening again. my pads had tons of meat on them when I checked, but it is already starting to squeal. Any tips from the masses would be awesome.

are you using the correct spec grease on the sliding pins? I stripped and rebuilt my front end after it fail the yearly inspection! it failed the retest too! the grease I was using on the sliding pins was to thick/not slippy enough/ I opened the tin incorrectly.....once the garage stripped, cleaned and replaced the grease on the pins the brakes worked near perfectly and are still going 18 month later

from what I can remember its meant to be a silicon grease with no addatives! I was using a copper based grease 'coppaslip' sp? I always dab a spot onto the back of the pads to stop the sticking and squealing and have used it before on moving parts, wheel bearings, moving parts on brakes etc, but was told its to thick and gums up the sliding pins on the deli and they need the correct grease to work properly

I just did my slider pins with Permatex ultra slick. The anti seize is a copper based grease for nuts and bolts so they don't seize. FWIW I put that on my wheel bolts, injectors, glowplugs.
