Found out my van has auto locks, need a fob. Any ideas??!!

Post by macro »

So, I was wiring something up and found tucked in behind the kick panel on the drivers side, an aftermarket door lock controller!!!!

The problem is, the van never came with a fob. I've searched all over and even contacted Remocon (on an old dated website) with no luck. Everyone has said that I need a working fob to sync it too. There's got to be some way to sync a new fob to this though. Anyone have any ideas?

Trace the wires as they are connected now, and then splice in one of these:

There's only going to be power, ground, and lock triggers, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out which is which. Since the one you posted is $300+ shipping, you're well ahead to figure out how to splice in a $15 one.

My loss is your gain. I discovered how cheap car electronics are AFTER spending $90 to get the Canadian Tire remote start "on sale" last year.

I looked into this with mine. The controller is an issue to reset or match to fobs. The Aussie site goes into it in detail. That's why I had a auto start out in. In my case the fob died.

Alright so I got the new lock trigger and tried to wire it up with no success. The existing wires are a power, ground, and two trigger wires. The trigger wires have about 4v according to my meter and that fluctuates when I press the lock button at the door so I'm assuming they're correct.
I could not for the life of me get the new one to work. It clicks and flashes so the power is there but it won't trigger the locks. I've tried jumping power to the trigger wires as well to no avail. Anyone installed one of these on an L400 that could point me in the right direction?

Hey Matt,

just came across this:

May help you.

I have a wiring diagram somewhere, pm me an email address and I'll see if I can dig it up.
