Weird question

Post by FredVenne »

Good day everyone,

My old furnace oil tank will be replaced and it is just shy of half full and they say when they change the tank they dump the oil... Which makes me mad, but it is how it is over here. So... my question is; has anyone used furnace oil in your little diesel engines?

Cheers,

Fred

I believe furnace oil is Diesel 1, where the stuff at the pump is Diesel 2. The difference is that diesel 2 has lubricity added that lubricates your injector pump. Diesel 1 covers a wide variety of diesel, ranging from Kerosene, Paraffin, jet fuel, &c. I'd take a look at good ol`Wikipedia, remembering that the Wikipedia article is only as good as the human that entered it.
