delica- loss of power and hard on fuel
My Deli used to be pretty fast, it had 65000 km on it when i bought it last summer and now like 77000 km I recently had the timing belts replaced and now it seems to have a serious lack of power and is really hard on fuel. I am not sure if the 2 are related? Also at the same time I used the 4 wheel drive a lot it, was winter and it helped in the snow, not sure if that has anything to do with it either. Dose any one know what the problem could be? I am starting to wonder about the turbo unit anyone?

Check injection pump timing , valve clearances , fuel filter , air filter . If all check out good it may require a pump overhaul .

Did they adjust the timing on your injection pump when they replaced the timing belts? They do at time skip a tooth and then don't run as good.
If it was the turbo I think you'd see other signs (smoke...)

Which two belts were left in there ??
Re: delica- loss of power and hard on fuel
well they changed the timming belt and the other belt that is close to the timming belt. The other two belts that you have to take off to get to the timming and other belt they said were allready changed

Leaking fuel pump? the seals go with age. It wil be harder to start, you might get a very few drops under neath (stick some cardboard down). CVI in richmond rebuilt ours, now all happy. Christine.

Re: delica- loss of power and hard on fuel
My wife's Deli was lacking in power and hard on fuel compared to what folks here post for mileage...we ended up at Japanoid getting the alternator replaced and Dean took it out for a drive and came back immediately set on dialing in the inj. timing...world of difference...amazing to us newbies at the time...was a totally different vehicle...The drive back to the Okanagan was much more pleasant with the new found power and shifting points.
