Has anybody experienced a clunk/tick noise albeit minor, coming from the front end, while making slow turns, right or left doesnt seem to matter. i have lubed the chassis and replaced shocks and front bushings, but it is still there. thought i would put it out there and see if anybody else has had this and has any ideas.
thanks.

Re: front clunk
Could be you cv joints have no lube, or are worn out. Check the rubber boots and ensure they are not split or torn.

I've reposted my "clunk" message too after spending a good part of the afternoon trying to diagnose it. The fact that yours sounds more "general" and involves other noises such as "ticking" which suggests a repetitive nature (ie, in conjunction with the wheels rotating) - I would suggest it is somehow drive line related and agree that CV could be the place to start. Mine is distinctly suspension...and proving frustrating to figure out!!!

Re: front clunk
mine is not a repetitive thing, so i doubt it is related to a rotating wheel. i checked the cv's and they are not loose. it HAS to be suspension, steering, linkage, sway bars, what else moves under there? i will keep looking, actually i am replacing rear sway bar links on thurs, so when its up in the air itll get a good once over, and i will probably re lube all grease points, just to be sure. in the meantime any input would be appreciated. i will definitley post if i find it, as it seems that this is one of those common gremlins in a few deli's out there

Re: front clunk
A quick search of the site will return a veritable cornucopia of clunk themed posts. That's the nature of 4-wheel drivelines. You mention replacing the sway bar bushings. This is a very common source for noise. You'll probably find some hard and cracked, and even missing bushings.
The ticking could be related to CV joints, but is seems that so far faulty cv joints are rare on these vehicles.
I had a ticking at tight turns problem. And eventually determined the wheel bolts were not seating sufficiently which allowed the (front) wheels to shift ever so little away from the hub which produced a ticking/clicking sound. New bolts with deeper reach solved it. Thanks to Glen and Jack and crew - as we all scratched our heads to isolate the sound. Nothing better though than the easy low dollar repair!
