Re: MOTOR OIL?
Currently, I use semi-synthetic. Have thought of going all the way but not sure just yet. Kind 'a sittin' on the fence, eh?

Re: MOTOR OIL?
every diesel I've ever owned run with 15w40 .
I've always used mineral, as my diesels were always older, however if I had a brand new'ish one, I'd run a full synth.
That said, it is my strong believe that the frequency of oil changes has higher impact on engine life than the mineral/synth option.
so my Deli gets a change every 5000kms or less.

Re: MOTOR OIL?
I don't know anything about the mineral / synth. debate, but I totally agree that whatever you use, it most defiantly needs regular changing! When in doubt, change your oil. Pretty simple, easy procedure that makes a huge difference to the happiness and longevity of a motor. I generally don't mix well with wrenchesit is my strong believe that the frequency of oil changes has higher impact on engine life than the mineral/synth option.

Re: MOTOR OIL?
3 months 15/40 mineral.
8 months 15/40 synthetic.
I prefer the synthetic. Without touching anything, after about a month and a half of heavy driving, synth seemed to calm the engine down a touch. Less vibrating. Not much difference, but noticeable.
It took two filter changes for the calmer side to show itself.

Re: MOTOR OIL?
i usually used regular 15/40 motor oil lubri moly made in germany, specially design for turbo engine.formulated in germany used for benz , BMW & VW.
my delica has 192kms now & not even burn any oil as for this mileage, it works really good. its a very good oil.
