Hey
Im new to these forums. For those of you familiar to delicaclub.com, Im the same ovstebo here as there:)
Reason I wanted to post this Q here is that Canada appears to be closer to Norway when it comes to climate..
So: How much motor oil does the 4D56(T) engine take?
What viscosity would be good for a temperature range of -20 to +30 degrees celsius?
Any special recommendations?

Hello and welcome, most us use (regular or synthetic) 15w40 and my Delica's take 6.2 liters. The manuals says 6.4 liters with a turbo 4x4, each model 4D56 is quoted to have different capacity; eg, 2WD/2WD T, 4WD, 4WD T.
We would like to see pictures of your Delica, please.
Cheers,
Kev (100% Norwegian decent)

We are running Shell Rotella T 0w-40 Full Synthetic (rated CI-4+). About $65 per 12 litre case at the local Shell dealer which seems pretty decent.ovstebo wrote:Hey

In the summer we will move to 5w40 Rotella T, again full synthetic. Summer may never come of course, I was in Huntsville today with the Benz on summer tires and had about three inches of wet snow land on my head. Not impressed...
The low viscoscity makes winter starting much easier.
Last Deli oil change took 6.4 litres, so we are in the ball park.
Oil is like marriage. Everyone has their preferences.

Thanks:)
I bought 10W40 mineral oil, planning to use it as a engine cleaner and replace it in the summer. As I havent owned her very long, I have no idea when she last had her oil replaced:)
Misty is a 4x4, a picture of her:
