My new bed-pictures

Post by andre66 »

I just bought an ikea frame and an air mattress for the back of my Delica. Once i have the curtains it will be great for the 3.5 hours i have between my evening job and my night job.
It takes me an hour to drive home from the evening job and so it is easier to just drive to the second job and take a nap in the back.
I had to take all the seats out to fit the twin bed frame but i bought the van for this specific purpose so i am not losing any functionality. Now i just need to have new curtains made for privacy.

as far as a bed goes looks good.why dont you throw an ikea mattress in there for an extra $90 and or pop the legs of the frame so you got more head space?

The leg height is so that the frame can clear the rear wheel well, the frame is a little to wide to fit between the two wheel wells. I would love to have more head room but had to compromise something. There is a decent amount of space under the frame to store things as well. My previous vehicle was a ford escort station wagon. I had a futon mattress in the back, really triggered my interest in the Delica with more room available for a decent bed and the chance to have some privacy with the curtains.
I also heard that an air mattress can be good for someone with lower back problems so i thought i would try one out. I can still use it for camping if i decide to switch to the mattress if i don't like it.
