This thread (http://www.delica.ca/forum/throttle-cab ... -3046.html) brought up the possibility that there may be more to my "1993" Exceed than first meets the eye.
First was the lack of throttle adjuster. Here are the pictures once again: Mystery Machine brought up the whole 1994 model possibility:

In June 1993 they released the '94 model year L300. I guess once a new year has started (i.e. Jan 1993) they can't call any following improved/updated models a '93 model year because of any 'non' updated ones sold before them, so they make it sound like you are getting next years model a bit earlier?? (I hope that makes some sense??)
There was very (VERY) little changed on the L300's between 1990 and 1993 except for some minor trim changes and things like seatbelts going to 3point.
In June 1993 when they launched the '94 model year L300 there were some significant mechanical changes.
Water cooled turbo
Totally revised glow plug circuit (uber quick)
Different cam belt (which makes me think there are other changes 'inside' the engine)
No hand throttle (I miss this!)
Different set-up on throttle/fuel pump (same basic pump)
I am sure there are more changes/differences too - I am gradually finding more out as I work on the car!
In answer to Jesse's comment - the new Mud Monkey doesn't have a hand throttle and I can confirm that any June 1993> L300's won't have either (except cars built before and registered after June 1993)
So I dropped by Jesse's and looked under Marshmellow, and there definitely seems to be a pipe on the Jammy Dodger that is not on his '93 Super Exceed. Sorry about the angle, but here is a picture: Is this the pipe for a water cooled turbo?Mystery Machine wrote:Easy done - just look for the water pipe from the back of the head/top of the block at the rear which follows around the side of the block and across to the turbo.jfarsang wrote:I'd like to take a closer look underneath at the turbo to confirm yours is the water-cooled version. Shoot me a PM.
If that's the case, then it perhaps the Jammy Dodger is a '93 built '94 model.
Can anyone confirm?
