Smokin' Delica
i just over heated my '92 delica, the rad hose blew causing the block to over heat and blow the head gaskets, so i now have a potentially warped head. I was not even driving it hard. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone suggest a place in the BC interior where i can get this worked on?

Re: Smokin' Delica
Any diesel mechanic.
The engine is the same one out of a Dodge RAM D50 1983-1986. 4D55T.
The 4D56 (Delica) head is a direct bolt-on/upgrade for the 4D55 (Dodge D50).
We did a transplant from a D50 to a Pajero last year.
If they will work on a Dodge, they will work on this.

within 3 days of owning the delica...Has anyone else had this problem?

only advice I have is CHECK YOUR RADIATOR! don't just fix the engine and expect all to be good again, if you don't fix the root cause of the problem it will only happen again. most likely it happened due to a problem with your cooling system, many of these vehicles arrived with a clogged radiator, get yours checked/re-cored/replaced at the same time as your engine work.

Typical of a water pump failure. If it didn't fail, then it will fail soon. The seals in water pumps don't like being run dry. I'd add that to your list including taking the rad out to be power cleaned by a real rad shop.

Don't forget the cheapest part of a cooling system.... the thermostat! Presumably diesels have them too. Usually the root cause of a lot of overheating in engines. An inexpensive part that can cause very expensive problems.
