Thule Loadbar length?

I got some thule feet for my Delica, what length of load bar are you guys using?

Looks like both sets of mine are 58", but I'd go longer than that given the option.

I have Yakima racks and am running 66 inch bars (yeah, I know, you metric Nazi's back off now, I know it's an imperial measurement). They overhang about 6 inches each side but unless you're over 7 feet tall you're not going to bang your head into them. The extra width allows me to pile three kayaks on top if I need to.

I was thinking for my next set of bars I'd just buy the right diameter pipe at Home Depot or wherever, cut it to length, and paint them myself. Seems like it would save a lot of $$.
