clunking front end
Lately when driving on the logging roads the front end dose not feel solid, its clunking when driving over the smaller bumps, washboard,it feels like my front end is loose in the wheels. Im thinking the stearing arms are worn out cause i feel it in the steering wheel,it's not solid and is really clunking. this seems to be getting worse also when turning to the right there seems to be some noise also like worn bearing, but its not hot and not a grinding noise? .....new shocks and bushings have been done.
I am stable in most situations that I have no reservations in stormy conditions.

Re: clunking front end
take a look, maybe you have lost a bushing or two. i had a terrible clunk while going on rough roads, then i discovered one of the bushings was gone, i replaced it and it clunks no more.

Sway bar bushings
Ball joints
Jack up your front end. Grab the wheels (top and bottom) and wiggle in and out and check for play.

Re: clunking front end
also check your lower control arm bushings. they will clunk if they are loose or worn out. there is 2 on each side. worth a check.

Re: clunking front end
Looks as though i may have a worn out ball joint ,drivers side, there is in and out play at the joint that links the control arm (not the joint at the hub assembly)the boot is split and this must be the problem .....Mardy $$$$,what am i looking at for a new one.and it looks like its not a fun job ,and or can i adjust the nut at the hub area to tighten it in?
