Highly recommend Maximum Overdrive, before I went with them, i was watching and monitoring many importer or delaers. I asked around what was done when they landed here. I was considering outback imports initially but price was too high. First I wanted a Hilux surf, I visited at least 4 to 5 dealers 2 years ago, including Mardy (amazing auto) Japaniod, Silk Road autos and other private importer. No one used to do complete servicing at that time (now most reputed dealers will do it on all their sales). I found outback and maxoverdrive doing complete servicing on ALL their sales regardless. Later my interest shifted to Delica and I went back to maxoverdrive. I went through 4 to 5 delicas before I picked my super exceed. All the vehicles were in good condition and fully serviced, I picked the one with best shape (didnt care about low low kms). It was delivered as promised with all work done. They have been consistant with their sales and service for over few years now. I highly recommed them.

We dealt with Terra2 twice. On those two transactions, I give them 1 negative, and 1 neutral, leaning to negative.

First time around, we were relatively uninformed, so really, I only blame myself but, the vehicle we thought we were getting was not as good as it had been described when it arrived. It was not bad, but not as good as it was described. It didn't have any maintenace issues too far out of the usual things on the inspection, but, by the time we had completed the required fixes, plus the compliance work, we were in for about $10,500. That's without having the belts replaced, shocks replaced, etc. The pre-sale service was great, but the guys could be a little difficult to get ahold of when they got busy. I echo all the things Delicat had to say about T2, they offer no guarantees and no mechanical service is included in their price. For the non-do-it-yourselfer, that probably means at least $2000 on top of your purchase price (especially if you need new tires, which you likely do.) if there's no major issues.

For that amount of money, you can get a guaranteed, fully serviced vehicle from most of the recommended dealers on here, with the belts and everything else done, plus often a warantee of some kind!

So, I, being a slow learner, gave T2 another chance looking for a vehicle better suited to us (the first one did not have 3-point belts in the back, as T2 was unaware at that time that this was even an option on Delicas, I had to tell THEM it was a post'91 feature.). One came along that looked great and was apparently highly touted by their person in Japan. Once bitten, I did manage to get them to deviate from their normal policy and they agreed that when it arrived, if I wasn't totally happy, they would refund me the full amount (T2's policy is usually to demand full payment before the vehicle even arrives here- and no refunds). The vehicle arrived- once again, not up to snuff, and we exercised our refund option. We did eventually get our refund as agreed, but communication did become quite difficult and it took awhile-- but we did get our money back, which is why I'm rating this one as 'neutral' (but only just)

In a nutshell, I can't say anything bad about the people at T2, usually very organized and communications usually pretty good. Knowing what I know now though, you get way too little servicing and virtually no guarantees based on very little information, for way too much money.

We've now found Delica#2 very happily through- you guessed it, "Amazing Auto", and Mardy's doing everything on it, so another very big positive rating for A.A.I.!!!

I bought my delica from silk road auto I would give a neutral rating only because im still driving it and have had no major problems with my delica. The reason im not happy with them is my odometer stopped working as soon as it reached 79999 kms just after i bought it. Also the guy told me he left the windows open thats why the front floors are wet {i did my research and knew about the water leak on about half the delicas in B.C}.I would not purchase another delica only because the price of there delicas is for nothing done to it.I would however buy my next delica from mardy ! I have bought parts from him and he is very honest and very knowledgeable.

It is great to hear about everyone’s experiences in the industry, both positive and negative.

By listening to the critiques from Delica owners, we can use this as an opportunity to adapt our business to meet the markets ever changing demands & trends.

We take our clients satisfaction very seriously. We have a self serve testimonial section where we invite each and every client to post their experience and rate our service. http://www.terra2imports.ca/about/#clients

We ask for feedback from our clients with the goal of identifying and resolving situations where clients are unsatisfied.

We would like to address the concerns of each of the clients who have posted in this thread individually and will edit this post when we have had the opportunity to do so.

T2: There's not much input I could have given you. As I stated, all of your staff were personally great to deal with, although the e-mails sometimes went on for awhile without replies. Besides that, you stuck with your policies that were clearly understood and stated. As a better informed consumer now though, I feel that many of your competitors offer a better product in terms of mechanical servicing after arrival- and no-risk to me guarantees, for the same amount or less money than I spent dealing with you. I cannot fault you for providing the service you said you would, I'm just saying I've found something better for me.

My post, along with all the other ones in this thread, are not meant as complaints- they are documentation of our experiences with various dealers.

Since this thread's genesis I have thought about this. Asking for customer feedback is, of course, one side of the story, and I have wondered what to do in the instance like this, where the business would like to respond to the customer's feedback.

If the customer has or had an issue, and the business is able to resolve it, I certainly think it's a good idea for an edited / updated post to say the issue(s) were resolved, because that's an important aspect of the customer's buying experience. I'm a little wary, though, of getting into long conversations via this thread, as that is not the purpose of its existence.

Perhaps those dealers or importers who wish to respond to a post can first pm the customer, and then either write a response to that interaction, or better yet, have the customer update their post. I will edit the intro to let dealers know.

I've already heard of one case where a customer was able to bring this thread and its many views to a dealer's attention, which helped encourage the dealer to fix a mistake.

Of course, Mark has the final say on this. :-D

Sigh - I have also wondered if something like this would happen. I am hesitant in accepting feedback from someone who signs up (whether a new member or an old member signing on as a new name) solely to write a post on this thread. They are not contributing members of the community, do not leave a helpful post, and instead flame for the sake of creating hurtful, negative feedback.

Ch-story, at the moment your post is neither helpful nor objective, and is an anonymous way of hurting others. Can you please either share a little more objective synopsis of your experience or delete your post. Thanks.

I think a good rule of thumb would be that feedback posts need to be authored by someone who has been a member for at least a month, and has 10 posts under their belts. I'll edit the intro post to reflect this, but as always...

...Mark has the final say. :-)

Meh!

I guess with success comes envy.

Some people are too stupid to LOOK at what a person is doing to make them liked and popular, and perhaps learn something from them. Instead they choose to attack their credibility through vague accusations.

positive for silk road - I like good business ethics being rewarded and as such would take this time to give 100% positive feedback to Silk Road Autos. I have been impressed with their honesty and service plus their prices are quite reasonable. Considering my experience with them and those of one of my friends, I think they are great people to deal with.
The Pinkfingers wrote:We bought the Jammy Dodger from Japanoid, and it was a very positive experience. We found Shogo and David to be very pleasant, helpful, and they really wanted to make sure we found the right vehicle for us. They have people in Japan who look at the vehicles before buying them, which we appreciated. They did a full inspection and maintenance, and have the best free warranty I have found so far (90 days, when most other places we checked are 30 days).

We found that we had to initiate most of the communication to find out where our Delica was at in its journey (they are very busy), and we've had to take it back once for a very quick fix on its timing (5 minutes and the mechanic showed me how to do it in case there's a next time).

I would wholeheartedly recommend them to potential customers.

Hi,
I know that my Strada is not a Delica but when i've started to check for Mitsubishi truck, the
first that some importers in Québec show to me was a Delica.I was very interested but the
price was too high (near 16000$) and that was not a pick-up.Then,an other importer said to me
that it was possible to have Delica pick-up truck but they were very rare and crew cab nearly
impossible to find.More, the price in Québec are often higher than the price in B.C.

So,i've found the Strada. The first was in Winnipeg.Very cool truck, but again, too expensive for me.
Then i saw Silk Road Autos on the web.At the time,he had two Strada.A grey and a Red.I was bit nervous about doing business with someone that was so far away from me,me in Québec,Karim
(SRA)in B.C.But,like Karim said on his website:'It was a very pleasurable car-buying experience.'
I've choosen the Red one.I'm a mechanic and the rules is:never buy a vehicle before having done
a good inspection. As we were very far,it was a bit difficult to check the truck before purchase.
So,Karim said to me that this Strada was very clean, not a shred of rust, and that mechanics was
A1,top shape. He said to me that timing belt was OK.I had confidence in him and my brother took a flight for Vancouver to picked up my Strada.
It was not possible for me to do the trip because a was working.

When my brother came back to Québec city,I was happy to see that the Strada was better than
i thought.Karim said not a shred of rust:it was true, absolutely no rust. The only thing i had to do
was the SAAQ inspection, wheel alignment and a inner tie-rod end who supposedly had wear,
according to inspection.+ an oil change with a genuine mitsubishi oil filter that Karim give to me.
Timing belt was OK,like he said.

So that's why i give 100%,10/10 to Silk Road and Karim. My cousin also buy a Strada from Karim and he is very satisfied. The two truck made the ride Vancouver-Québec with no problem.
It gives good idea of their conditions.

Two weeks ago I bought a Delica Chamonix from Mardy at Amazing Auto Imports. He's an amazing guy. I was treated more as a friend than a customer. I gave him a week to prep the car for delivery, he did more work than I asked for and both my wife and I were amazed at the result. After two weeks of owning the Delica we've driven to California and back. We could not be more satisfied after our 3,000km+ round trip.

Thanks Mardy for the Delica. I would recommend Mardy's Amazing Auto Imports to anyone looking for a clean, reliable and well kept JDM vechicle.
He did more work than was expected of him. 10 thumbs up!

Regrettably, a number of the responses in this thread appear to have originated from one single computer. In response to this abuse, I've blocked access to this site to the person who described himself/herself as "esphie", "jennyt", and "ch-story".

At this time, we do not have sufficient evidence to link these related posts to any specific business.

I'm hoping to receive additional data from the person's ISP that may shed some light on this issue. In the meantime, I would ask that if any member of this forum has received correspondence from "esphie", "jennyt" or "ch-story" that they get in touch with me.
