Ain't that where (good) diesels rock, we can run our vehicles with different combinations of; canola, hemp, and many other plant oil, pork lard, ooligan grease, kerosene, water and/or methanol, propane, mineral oils (ATF), engine oil, gear oil, acetone, and many more combos. Just know what your doing when you throw something into your tanks. Was thinking of typing out a much larger list of oils, but just with plant oils alone the list is huge - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_vegetable_oils.

that's an impressive list indeed. if only we could figure out how to run them on water or compressed air..anybody got a mod up their sleeve in that regard?

I use waste motor oil as fuel in the generaor that produces elctricity for my home. Waste cooking oil is not available around here but paople pay me a dollar a gallon to take waste motor oil off their hands.BCDelica wrote:Has anyone else tried this?
Didn't take long too collect 15 gallons, in a olive barrel using mine and a friends oil changes, then process it.

Kev
I run through a centrifuge type oil filter made by Dieselcraf which filters it to 2 microns. I also adjust the PH to nutral with lye and add 1 gallon of gasoline to 10 gallons of waste motor oil. I also have run it with 7 gallons of WMO to 2 gallons of diesel fuel.
Nrmally on desel the engine requires a 1,000 hour removal of the head for de-coking. I have talked with several people who have over 3,000 hours on WMO with no de-coking rquired.
Here is my web page on the engine http://rbodell.com/listeroids.aspx any questions, you can contact me a rbodell@gmail.com as I don't usualy frequent this list.

I burn WMO in a diesel engine at 100% WMO, but I process it through a WVO processor to filter it and bring down the PH to neutral. WMO is acid PH. I use a dieselcraft centrifugal filter so I don't have to buy filters. It gets it down to 2 microns. I also have a simpler way to check the PH than the titration method.
