By Far THE coolest trailer for a Deli

Personally I like the idea of towing a Boler trailer. I think that getting a Boler and matching the color scheme of the Delica would be kick ass. I've looking high and low for a decent Boler in my price range.

I would even add a ladder at the back and a nice custom mini bush bar at the front just for funny factor.

Out of curiosity... where are you sourcing your Bio? And what type of price are you finding on it? I've been meaning to start doing that, just hasn't happened yet...

Back to that trailer. That is pretty cool, but this the trailer I've currently got, but below is a very creative unit built in the 60's. I think it's just what I need for behind my Delica. I'm not sure how many years they were made for, but they are a very impressive/cool little unit, not unlike a Delica.

I've said it elsewhere here - There has never been a bear attack on Vancouver Island... It's true. That's not to say there never will be, but they really are a little easier going over here, go figure

But there have been cougar attacks... A bear encounter is much more preferred to a cougar encounter... not that I prefer either.

That's true, there have been, though cougars are not likely to be attracted to a tank full of WVO the same way bears would be. Though bears might be attracted to a tank full of diesel too - it's scary what they will eat I've had the great fortune of seeing cougars on 4 separate occations. One of them involved the cat chasing a big buck deer through our camp at Thanksgiving Cave. Pretty freakin' spectacular!! And while I always feel lucky to see bears, it is a common expericance, so I would have to say cougar encounters (of the safely viewing kind, anyway!) are prefferable

This summer in my field unit we have had increased cougar activity, just today I had to remove a trophy bighorn sheep carcass floating in Lake Minnewanka below a cliff that I suspect was a result of cougar hazing subsequent to earlier successful attacks from a cougar we call 'Doug' who brought down a ram on the shore in front of some Minnewanka Tours staff out for an evening boat ride:



We generally provide the following tips on ways to prevent a cougar encounter:

• Travel in groups;

• Keep children close by;

• Make lots of noise;

• Be aware of surroundings, including tracks and scat;

• Carry pepper spray;

• Keep dogs on a leash at all times. Dogs may be seen as prey.

In the event that you do encounter a cougar:

• Never approach the animal and allow it a means of escape;

• Pick up small children and pets;

• Stay calm, don't run. You may trigger a chase;

• Make yourself big, wave arms, sticks and objects over your head;

• Shout, throw rocks and sticks, use pepper spray;

• If approached, be aggressive and fight back;

• Steer clear of cougar kittens, as the mother will likely be close by.

I have a customer that is doing bio out of his garage. Still awaiting the lab results, but apparently a bit different formula that he is looking to buy the rights for Southern Alberta for. Supposed to be fine to run in any system without damage to seals, etc. I have about 150 kms on this tank and is running just like its on diesel from the pump, other than the smell. It may even have a little more power, but hard to tell. Economy seems to be the same, but I'll run an entire tank until making any claims about that.

Price is fantastic! 75 cents a liter which is fine by me. I just pull up the the back of his garage and fill up. I don't know how many customers he is going to look for as this is his hobby. He works full time for an oil company, which is a little ironic. I have asked him if he is wanting more customers and he said not yet. I assured him that he secret is safe with me, which is totally self serving of course!

WOW Very, very cool - Great shot! And how lucky to see that?! When the cougar chased the deer through our camp he broke off the pursuit when the deer ran past us. There was a woman from Germany along on that trip and it scared her pale. She couldn't wait to get pavement under her feet. We all tried to convince her she should consider herself lucky to see such a thing as it is extremely rare. Nope, she wanted to leave! Poor thing.

And I know someone has posted it before somewhere, but there are some really neat little trailers for sale on the Island Hwy. just a little north of Nanoose, I believe. Real funky and retro looking. Kinda Boler-ish. I really like the teardrop ones

Bears are not dangerous to you if you use some common sense, however if you leave something too tempting available, they'll go through almost anything to get it.

Anything except wolverines. Wolverines have been known to attack grizzlys to get at food and the grizzly backed off. Wolverines have also been known to claw through a 55-gallon steel barrel to get at stuff stashed inside. But they leave humans alone unless cornered. JMK might correct me, but wolverines are the size of small dogs with claws the size of a black bear's.

Related to that, I recently read about a wolf pack on the Pacific coast near Prince Rupert (The last wild wolves : ghosts of the Great Bear rainforest, incredible, haunting book) and it actually chased down, killed, and ate a black bear! So even bears have predators (other than humans).

...but wolverines are the size of small dogs with claws the size of a black bear's...

...with a disposition twice as nasty as anything out there. Actually, it has more to due with their strength-to-size ratio, as is further described here.

I think I'm gonna get the "Trunk Wolverine". I'll bet they would make for a nice pet for the kid's, too!
