Your opinions please

Post by Drooper »

Let me start from the begining if I may.

I had already decided that I was going to take Delisaurus off the road at the begining of next year for a few months and have it all to bits.

Change the timing chain, water pump, expansion tank and a few other bits and peices more for prevention rather than cure really.

I was also going to get all new joints and bushes some nice new torsion bars and shocks and do the lift at the same time.

Along with a few body mods and interior bits without having to worry about it being needed by Monday morning to go to work.

Then a couple of days ago she started to sound like the timing chain has reached then end of its life, and I have been pulling my hair out trying to work out what to do for the best because the TAX runs out on her this month too.

Don't really want to start using the car I have just brought for my misses to go to work, one because it will get destroyed in our yard and two cause she has waited since I brought the Deli a year ago for me to replace her car that I sold to buy it.

However I have just been offered this

For really silly money, its MOTed till October and taxed until Febuary and really really tidy.

So now I'm thinking that I will take the Deli off the road earlier than planned and use the Paj until I get her back on the road in a few months time.

As an added bonus I haven't got to worry about the road salt setting the dreaded metal worm loose on my beloved Deli.

So what you all think shall I buy the Paj and stand Delisaurus up for a while?

Gawd no, don't do it!! Just kidding. I think you must know what we'll all think. And I'm with you re: the nasty road salt. A necessary evil I suppose, but my cynical side keeps wondering if there isn't a better way and that the automakers have something to do with it... :? Undercoating and frequent undercarriage hose-downs is all ya have - Short of a silly cheap Pajero to take it on the chin for your princess bus that is! Enjoy the new ride and all those upgrades to Delisaurus :M :-D

That's just not cricket, man! It's not even a Delica. Hold out for an L300 at least...

But seriously, if you're get that for the kind of pounds Mystery Machine has paid for the last couple of his rides, go for it. I still can't get over how cheap some of the used vehicles sell for over there. Ridiculous.

Its not quite that cheap!

I don't know where he finds them.

But the main bonus is that it belongs to my uncle so I haven't got to pay all of it up front.
