Tranny not kicking down
Our transmission isn't kicking down for passing, etc... I have to hit the Overdrive Off to give 'er up hills. Anyone else had this issue? Feedback on the fix?

stolen from the uk site... adjusting your kick down may be the solution
heres a link to the thread I got the info from
http://www.mdocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopi ... ick+adjust
seems that slackening is the way to solve your problem...

Just done the kick down cable on mine thanks to advice from Chiefie.
lift your "bonnet" sit in the drivers seat and press the accelerator whilst looking on top of the engine. you will see two cables move. One is the accelerator caable and goes towards the back of the enginine bay then across and down to the accelerator pedal. The other one goes to the right side or the gearbox. The adjustment is just under a couple of wires, on the top of the engine two nuts one iether side of the bracket.
I released mine by quite a bit,
but remember to count the turns so you can return it if it all goes pear shaped.
What a difference.....I now have acceleration in all gears, not only for motorway driving but all the time big improvement.
Thanks Chiefie

Re: Tranny not kicking down
A quick clarification for this post. When I read this, Adrock said
I just adjusted mine to kick down sooner and not shift up so easily on acceleration from a stop (the acceleration thing was driving me crazy). I tightened the cable quite a bit to do this. If you want the transmission not to kick down as easily then loosen the cable.
Note, the nut in front of the bracket is the lock nut and the nut behind the bracket is the one that adjusts the tension.
Hope this helps.

. When you read the UK post they are actually talking about the opposite problem that Leafster was talking about...seems that slackening is the way to solve your problem...
