My side door has stopped locking/unlocking, yet I still believe that I can hear the actuator.
I believe someone mentioned something about using a pencil eraser on the contacts???
I have also decided to install a remote locking mechanism, but the driver's door would require
an actuator to be installed. I know Falco mentioned Perfromance Car Audio who I contacted
and they gave me a price of $349+ for the install.
Has anyone else done this install for less, and if so, where?
Cheers,
Joe

Re: Door locks and remote locking mechanism
Hello
One of my clients just installed one in his Pajero and it was cheaper then $ 350.00. Please email me and I can give you his number. I am debating doing the same and maybe we can work something out.
As per the side door I had a similar issue and it was fixed by lubing the lock mechanism. Try to establish how sticky it is.

Re: Door locks and remote locking mechanism
Joe ,
Mine is doing the same thing. It locks, but more often than not this last month its not been unlocking automatically. I have been going around and using the key in the door to manually unlock, then its okay for a few cycles then back to being stuck. Im wondering if the actuator isnt gummed up. Looks like a side door tear down inspection this weekend.

I know what you mean about child-proof caps. Unfortunately, they aren't cat-proof either. We came home one day to find the Tylenol bottle on the floor with the pills scattered all over. And Boris (the cat) loved eating pills, so he was rushed to the vet. They couldn't get him to take ipecac to throw up any pills he might have eaten, couldn't get him to take charcoal to absorb it, so had to do an IV of fluids to flush his system. He was 2 days in hospital with the IV at about 200 mL/hour. He came through it okay. We never left pill bottles on the counter again.konadog wrote:No, but I'll send my 3 year old out there a little later on this evening. In case you didn't know, Tylenol (Acetaminophen) and Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) is lethally toxic to cats. Not quite as deadly for dogs, but still...
Aspirin is beneficial for cats with arthritis in very small doses.
Acetaminophen: "The feline toxic dosage is 50-100 mg/kg. One regular-strength tablet (325 mg) may be toxic to cats, and a second could be lethal. One "extra strength" (500 mg) tablet can result in toxicosis."
Never give human drugs to animals without a vet's okay. Vet, not a pharmacist, most of them don't know their animal physiology (and why should they?).
... We now return to your regular programming ...

If you are talking about a remote door lock/unlock, I did mine at Japanoid for $250 (and taxes). After I did it, I discovered that CVI in Richmond do it for $200.
