Hey all,
I am looking to become a Delica owner and am just curious about the "challenges" that are involved with ownership... First thing is the electrical system, are they standard 12v N. American style electronics? The second thing is parts/service availability here (Vancouver area), what can I expect? Do Mitsubishi dealerships here in Canada work on them? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Casey

Mitsubishi dealerships here do not supply parts, how ever almost every importer does. finding parts in Vancouver is pretty easy if you know what websites to check and if you keep an eye on this forum.

Hey Casey - and welcome. A delica is a wonderful vehicle for sure, but it makes a big difference if you get educated about them. The forum here has been around for a while and has amassed a great wealth of knowledge. Pretty much all the questions you have about them have been answered somewhere, sometime here. Use the search function and / or just sniff about and read. Happy day!

Happy Day!

Hey Casey, how are you and welcome!
The biggest issue I have had to deal with when driving such a cool van is the paparazzi. How I dealt with this is getting a really cool set of sunglasses
!
Seriously 'though; you have to remember that despite they are usually in such great shape ~ they are still fifteen years old. On this site in a forum titled "Delica Canada Technical" you will see a link called "Visit Delica Wiki". This link will prove invaluable. One thread in this link is called "To Do List On Newly Acquired Delica" ~ this will give you a good idea about what you may wish to look into with your new Delica.
The next thing I would suggest would be to keep your eyes peeled for a Delica mini-meet. At these events you will meet the Delicas and their drivers in the flesh (and in the steel) and find yourself asking all sorts of questions. You will find the postings for these events in "Delica Canada General" forum under "Events - BC Lower Mainland". I live in North Van ~ if you would like to get together for coffee and a chat feel free to PM me with your phone number and we can hook up... smiles.
Be well, Falco.
