well here is another (luckilly theoretical question) if someone needed a new head, would they be able to use one from a D50? (you say it's different, but any reason it wouldn't work?)

You could but I'm guessing you'd need the connecting rods/crank to match the head.

Not sure. Pretty neat though.

When I got my Paj 4 years ago, I knew of people back in the 80/90's swapping the diesel into montero's. I didn't know Delica's had the same engines. :-D

So just to add on here, for the engine it would be a D50 Truck you'd be looking for, and if I recall correctly didn't you say elsewhere previously that there are various other parts you can use from a Dodge Colt?

Dodge colt I used the wiring harness for the radio.

Dodge D50 Pickup is the application at parts shops.

jfarsang,

Do you know if you can source brake pads and rotors based on North American Domestic such as the Dodge Pickup or something else?

Wish our oil filter was out in the open like that... must be nice to have all that room to get one's hand around it.

JMK wrote:Wow. So you can order OEM parts like T-Belt, etc., for a 1985 D50 and they will all work? Thanks for pointing that out.
Having talked with the parts desk at the Mitsu dealer here in Victoria, when Dodge needs parts for a D50, they call Mitsubishi. Dodge doesn't have them in stock, they rely on Mitsubishi to still carry them.
