synthetic oil.....
Hey, its time for an oil change....I am running Mobil Delvac diesel syn. right now and am having a hard time finding it where in am in northen AB. So the question.....is it ok to change syn brands or is it better to go back to conventional oil. I am also going to the Baldwin BD28 filter over the Fram..due to some bad press on here! Thanks

Re: synthetic oil.....
shouldn't be an issue switching oils. Rotella T is available through most part stores, and fairly cheap too!

I'm running the baldwin filter (shop in north Vancouver has em for $20 or so) and synthetic Shell Rotella 5w40

I also used petro-can's duron 0w50 when I was in -30 weather in alberta. At those temps, parked outside, no block heater or anything= 15w40 = no start. 0w50 = start quite easily.
When it gets warmer here and especially for the summer months I am thinking of switching back to my previous oil, quaker 4x4 blend 15w40... anyone have any advice on that?

Re: synthetic oil.....
Why not keep using the Shell synthetic? I'm using that year round myself

Happy Day!
