Ther are alot of 15x7's out there that will fit nice.
Definitely check the centre hole is big enough,
it goes very close to the lug holes.

74-83 J-10 series had 6 on 5.5
74-83 F/S Cherokee had 6 on 5.5 too.
So buddy might not be full of poo.
Check every rim closely for cracks and
if the rim has alot of curbing around the lip.
A sweet deal on busted rims is still a burn.
$120-$160 for a tires off old rims put on new (to you)rims
and a balance. Around Nanaimo anyway...
