Hey look, I'm starting a new thread, not stealing someones.

Topics may eventually be moved to other Delica Canada forums.

Well, if you're reading this, your probably read the stolen delica thread get way out of hand.

First things first.

Anyone complaining for more moderation who posted something not related to the stolen delica in that thread can shut up now, because I just spent 10 minutes I will never get back deleting things that people really should have had the maturity to keep to themselves.

Secondly, the internet is a big place, and it seems very easy to get lost. However the delica community is not the same, and if you want to use this forum to its full potential, you'd better stop making enemies and start making friends.

The off topic thing is very loosely enforced, because it rarely takes on a mind of its own and is usually good for a chuckle. However to have a page and a half of off topic posts in 2 and a half pages is not respectful to the original poster, (especially one who just had their ride stolen) Considering it is a potentially time sensitive thread, we all need to think a bit more in front of the keyboard.

Users have been warned, and appropriate solutions will be reached if the problems persist.

and for anyone who takes this too seriously, 10 minutes of my time isn't worth a whole lot.

People need to recognize the difference between a personal attack... and calling out someone's BS!

EX 1: Someone says the vehicle they are selling is very clean and rust-free... yet they show a photo of the underside which is one of the rustiest out there.

EX 2: Someone claiming that L400 headlights can be had for $200.

When it comes to "calling out someones BS" it will have to be done by the book. Report the post, write why it is being reported and if there is misinformation prove it with a link, or some facts.

No member here knows everything, and there is a ton of information that may or may not be true. Many people post things they believe to be correct that are not.

None of this matters, or causes problems as long as things are discussed reasonably and respectfully like adults.

EX: Milage Debate

How do we distinguish... fact, opinion, bs, etc??

Some people are posting like they are stating FACT when it is just their OPINION or something they heard from a friends friends friend. Some of them are repeating themselves over and over.

Remember, just 2 of the communist propaganda techniques.... Ad hominem and Ad naseum....

It gets to a point like I am at...

I know what I know, I know what I think, I know which people here have opinions I trust, and I know people here who post 'facts' that I would trust more if my dog told me.

The vested interest in making sure other people know the right facts is completely gone.

Hopefully your reasonable person would know right off the bat that this is an internet forum, and nothing is to be taken as fact. There is a lot of useful information here, and it is to be used at your own risk.

If you disagree with someone do it respectfully and there will be no problems. In the end it will come down to a select few that most people here trust coming up with the answer and the reason why (which is the only real way to back something up)

Just like when i'm at work. An inspector may have never seen me do something the way I did, (as in, someone makes a way out to lunch statement no one agrees with) but if I can explain why I did it (explain why its true) then its all good.

Very interesting comments.

The main problem I see is google. You type in a question and 99% of the time you get directed to "answers" found on this website.

ivoac.ca

These recent multiple thread discussions here on delica.ca have been discussed years ago at ivoac where there is a significantly large JDM Canadian membership.
