Cheap Mexican Paint Job

Post by Modsqwad »

I just got our deli back from the Laminero (body man) this week and boy am I pleased. He charged me 9,000 pesos (around 800$ can)
to paint the whole van and put two coats of clear coat on top. That was with good quality dupont paint too! I love the look but was
a little bent when my daughter and son said it was great but a little Gangsta. What do you all think? Should I soften it up whit some
pin stripes or something? Its so much cheaper to do this kind of stuff down here. My daughters braces cost around 1600 can$ here
and lots of other stuff like that make it worth a trip. Drink pacifico on the beach while you save money getting your van painted, what a
deal!

I did wind up removing that line of old trim and I'm glad I did.

Ha Ha, Theres a connection I hadn't made yet! I don't know which is worse this or "Gangsta" I was always more of a "MacGuiver"
fan. My son looked at this and didn't get it at all, to far back into the dim reaches of the eighties for him even to have seen the
reruns.

Andy,

It looks Cherry, stay the course.

It would only be "Gangsta" if you were driving around pounding 1200 watts of "Say It Cause I Can't Sing It" kinda musac.

Bueno !!!

I think: Extent the stripe so the angular portion is ascending in the rear window and at a steeper angle.

I would also go with a champagne-mossy-green colour that obliques/obscures with a progressing design pattern (representational of You) as the line fans out toward the top.
