This is a demonstration of what happens under your seat when your fusible link goes...
(Turn the volume up a bit for this one.)

Wow, love the conductive flame at the end.
Turn up the volume, hahaha, the sound drove my dog nuts.

Re: Fusible Link Short Circuit Demonstration.
I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago and I'll post the pics soon. I'm on the road right now and should be home in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the reminder Falco.

On a more serious note, this is why high-voltage power lines deserve respect, even from a distance. Notice the big arc in the hot/smoky air before it finally tripped out?
Can happen over long distances:

This is why making campfires under Hydro lines is a Bad Idea. Power can and will follow the ionized air/smoke path to ground. (Happened to a friend of a friend in Arizona - rangers found four guys zapped around their campfire).
Happy and safe camping!

This should also prove to be a valuable lesson in fusing, I made that mistake on my L300 and nearly lost the vehicle to fire (10awg wire direct to battery without a fuse, shorted the other end (pinched in the "hood") and it's lucky I was thinking quickly when it happened, I noticed smoke coming out from under the hood, quickly lifted it, and luckily that broke the connection, but by that time there was 2 feet of 10awg wire attached to the positive terminal of the battery and with NO insulation left (all burned/melts off))
I'm a lot more careful now! another few moments and I wouldn't have had a delica anymore.

Re: Fusible Link Short Circuit Demonstration.
When painting the exterior of an house; the 240 line that feeds the house can arc six feet. One reason that roller extensions are made with fibreglass handles. Regarding the van: 1100 Amps travelling at 12 volts... that's a considerable amount of power. Kind of like driving at 50 KPH. Not very fast... until you lose control, then it is very fast.
The vid also reminded me of someone leaving their body to pass on to the next realm. A struggle of energy, followed by one last gasp and then flat line.
