Thanks :) I know Trek make great bikes, but personally I will NEVER buy one... The guy up in Iskut who makes those fabulous little hobo stoves had named them "Trekstov" as in a little stove to take on treks. A micro business. One day he got a threatening call from a lawyer from Trek Bicycles telling him if he didn't change his name they'd "crush him." Bastards - unforgivable... I'll stick with Kona.

I bought a bushbuddy stove in support! Haven't used it often (twice, actually), but I love it. One of those products that doesn't do much, but what it does, it does really really well.

I just gotta shake my head at those prices. I paid $300 for my first car, and I've never paid more than $400 for a bicycle. But then the only new car I bought (1982 Subaru), cost less than the camera bag and contents that I carried in it were worth, so maybe I'll shut up now.

When you can buy a pretty much exact replica of Lance Armstrong's race bike for $4000, that's a big deal to some people and an awesome deal.
I have people ask me repeatedly why do people spend $8-$10000 on a 15 year old van from Japan lol Same thing, either you get it or you don't.
I'm sure some people shake their heads when you tell them how much you spent on your camera equipment "I never spent more than $200 on a camera, and tey always took excellent pictures! " lol
It's all about what you're into...
For instance, I personally can't get enough of the cargo bikes (see the pictures) But at $2500-$3500 (depending on specs) some people just can't wrap their heads around the logic "i could buy a car for that" kind of logic.
"well, yes...but then you'd have to DRIVE IT" is my answer.
Everybody has a passion, and there is usually a good chunk of the populous who think they're nuts for it! :)

I love this cargo bikes, they are everywhere (obviously not as fancy) in the Netherlands. People us them to carry almost everything from construction material to their kids.
