how can i make more boost in the turbo?

how can i make more boost in the turbo because i need more power so i can climb up hills better and also for offroading + towing

If you can show me you have a pyromiter and boost gauge on your van, I will explain how to do it, but if you have no way of monitoring your exhaust temp. and boost pressure, then I don't want to help you blow up your van. What have you got so far?

Or turn it up until you melt a piston and turn it down a little after you rebuild the motor!!

yes don't get all boost happy until you go through the right steps to prep the motor..... I've blown several turbos and a piston in my high boost, high horse power mazda 323 you need to consider several things..... fuel being the big one cause if you start running lean this adds WAY more heat Basically you want lots of cool air in, with lots of warm air out..... bigger exhaust alone will give more power but you need to start at the intake first.... ie free flowing filter hard intercooler piping etc....etc.... then you start by adding more boost either boost controller on the waste gate or by adding 3mm washer to the back of the waste gate actuator you dont want to run more than 12-14 psig boost in these things cause they already run high compression 20:1 i believe. when you start adding more air to an already high compression eingne the heat generated is enormous.... thats why an intercooler is added

If you DO run more than 15psi should you not see a considerable increase in EGT? So would it be save to run more boost as long as you aware of your temperature?

I think the higher compression with diesel hi compression can increase the cylinder pressures and blowup head gaskets, heads etc...

No idea what the limit is...but here is the limited on a cummins:

if you go past 15 psig boost pressure you will see greater egt due to the fact that there isn't enough fuel being added thus running into a lean condition in your cylinder (s) by adding more fuel you keep the charge a bit cooler

I'm running 13-14psi under max load on 5spd L300 w/ 2.25" exhaust and 31" tires and it's great. The best acceleration/top speed in any L300 I've ever driven. Pyro and boost gauge keep me/driver in check.

For diesels, more boost will actually result in cooler EGT's (within the efficiency range of the turbo of course). More fuel will result in higher EGT's (always). More boost will yield no extra power without following it up with extra fuel. This is not an indefinite rule as oxygen is still required to make power, so removing all oxygen will obviously remove all power.

However the above rules are true all normal operating conditions (0 vacuum) as all diesels inherently run lean, and it is the fuel control that regulates the power output, not the vacuum control like in a petrol engine.
