Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

problems with 4m40 pajero.

Post by gtr »

hey dc

I had a weird problem with my pajero today so I thought I would see if you guys had an idea what it could be.

Truck was driving along perfectly fine then looked behind me and saw allot of smoke came to the stop sign and truck shook badly and died and would no restart. Just crank and crank.

Opened the hood. Noticed some drops of coolant near the injection pump. And it was coming from the upper rad hose where it meets the engine.

The upper rad hose was really stiff and hard, like it was pressured and this I found really weird that it was that stiff.

I pumped the primer and after a few cranks it came back but smoked really badly and then died, waited 10 mins and primed it again started it up and revved it up and it ran well after, I drove to work and tried start it a few times and it was fine it did this once before.

Also its smokey on cold start ups anything below 0 you have to rev it to get it to stop chugging.

Any ideas? It has recent glow plugs
Thanks
Steve

Almost sounds like a coolant leak in the block. Or a blockage in the water jacket.
