just a quick update with yet another oil analysis report. at 15K kms, still on the same kleen oil filter. i meant to compare apples to apples and sample at approx 11K kms but just didn't get to it. but, still, the oil scores 10/10 and can continue. i had planned on changing bypass filters at 15K, not sure now if i aim for 20K kms?! only thing to take note of is the lead, but i'm not sure what the risks are...if and when that figure goes up in time..? will check with a rep who knows their chemistry..
btw, the oil is amsoil ame 15w/40 diesel oil, not chevron.
somewhat unrelated, and just for everyone's curiosity. i also got an analysis of the same amsoil in our diesel 80 seires land cruiser. but there is NO bypass filter yet at this time (i have it in the garage just waiting for time and wanted to sample pre and post) at the time, the oil had about 22K kms on it, on 1 oem oil filter changes at 10K kms (well and the 2nd one at 22K then new oil was put in as well) so the sample was at 22K and at the end of the 1st oil filter put at 10 k into it...
the 1hdt takes about 9 litres of oil. with the new oil and filter in there now and passed 5K kms. the oil is still half golden brown! i also notice more soot created on the l400 vs the cruiser, not sure how to explain that, maybe b/c of the smaller oil capacity...?
