Antenna replacement?

Post by Elbrad »

Hey folks! I hear that one of the more common things to go is the antenna...so there must be someone out there with a fix. I've been looking for a replacement for mine, but can't locate something that'll fit and not stick out from the side.

Any ideas guys?

Salvage one off a wreck? My aerial is pretty skucum, I've whacked it a few times and it still works ~ although I had to bend it back in shape on one occasion.

I tried the wreckers, unfortunately there was nothing at Malaspina and CCAutos didn't have one either.

Still looking...

I just bought a replacement antenna and parts at Canadian Tire and shovel it in with a hammer... Still up there and works great!

Cheers!

Hi there!

I ate two of original antennas (because i forget to hide it in the forest), so they where broken.

When we restore our van, we hiden the antenna's hole's:

And now i installed a similar antenna:

It has got two wire, one for the power and one to the radio.
It works well. I hide it behind the glove-box.
Sorry for my English

Falco, I haven't heard the term "skucum" (or skoocum) since I left the land of the Gitksan. Made me smile, thanks! :-D
