So, one of the problems with the L300 Star Wagons and them burning out the headlight switch in the steering stalk is the fact that the whole current draw from the headlights is going through a little circuit board in the steering stalk. I know that in my second generation Pajero (1994-onwards), Mitsubishi installed a relay system instead.

Yes, Jay often installs relays on L300's that are having intermittant combination switch issues, to take the load off the switch to try to prolong its life. 1 or 2 yers ago a grateful owner posted photos about it. Christine.
