I recently put a Terzo ladder on the back of our L400 and that extra weight has caused the rear door to not stay open very well. The lifts (is that what they're called?) just aren't up to the task I guess. They actually seemed to be fairly stiff before the ladder was added so the fault may not be worn out lifts. Anyone else with a heavy ladder have this problem? Anything that can be done about it? Is it worth trying to find replacement lifts and if so where?
Cheers,
Kevin.

Re: L400 rear door lifts
I have seen new struts on the Rocky Mountain Imports site but they are not cheap.

Here is a little trick from us westy owners - http://www.telusplanet.net/public/gary2 ... upport.htm
I have not made them yet for my rig but I have started gathering the piping. If you don't feel like it you can also use a vice grip and a little rubber. Ghetto Style!

Re: L400 rear door lifts
Hi Kevin
On the first page, there is a link to the upgrade (replacement)
http://www.delica.ca/forum/fabrication- ... 11846.html
http://www.delica.ca/forum/looking-for- ... -9445.html
Strutwise is the company and he charges $120 for the pair (L300/L400 it doesn't matter).
http://www.strutwise.com/
Be sure to mention to him you have a ladder so he can up the pressure.
Parking is around the back in the alleyway.
