Changing the frontend
Hi,
does anyone know if it`s possible to swap the newer style projector lights into a older style delica. I was wondering because the metal piece between the headlights is welded to the body and it is different on both styles...
Would appreciate a fast answer, because i have to order the parts soon...

Re: Changing the frontend
We looked at it not to closely one night and decided you had to do body work...
Of course the person wanted to put the old style headlights in so they could actually see when driving at night :)

Hip to be square for sure.
Aahhhh zing!
Seriously though the newer style
left me quite unimpressed ,comparatively speaking.
Maybe with Piaa $$$ bulbs or
an HID addition $$$$.
To me the cheap squares
make sense. ¢¢¢

Re: Changing the frontend
If I'm not mistaken, the op has stated in a previous thread the desire to have the appearance of the new lights but will convert to HID!? I've taken a look at putting one of the newer Delica grill's on an older model and that, as well as I stalling new headlights, will require some, if not a lot of bodywork.

Re: Changing the frontend
I know the OP likes the new front end.....but it is work to get poorer bulbs even with a HID conversion...nxski wrote:If I'm not mistaken, the op has stated in a previous thread the desire to have the appearance of the new lights but will convert to HID!? If you are going to do body work there are lots of better lights out there... It would look good with 7" rounds maybe with LED Lights!

Good point, if you decide on doing some bodywork anyways it would be neat to see some really unique lights in there!

So, the main light is an LED? Now you've piqued my interest.thedjjack wrote:I know the OP likes the new front end.....but it is work to get poorer bulbs even with a HID conversion...nxski wrote:If I'm not mistaken, the op has stated in a previous thread the desire to have the appearance of the new lights but will convert to HID!? Actually what I'm looking for is a 7" round with the city light in it, like the old VW's had, or European cars from the 60's.

Re: Changing the frontend
Those lights in the picture are 7" regulars,,,but they do make 7" LED now....they are a little spendy the trucking industry uses them...
I have seen them posted on other forms.
Cheers

Re: Changing the frontend
Main differences between the two types:
I don't know how available are these parts.
After a quick search i found an aftermarket, old-school head-panel here, in Hungary:
I think it isn't impossible, but is it necessary?
