Trying to determine a sound coming from the front end, and wondering if it may be the brake pads telling me they are low.
The brakes feel fine, but I hear a constant tinny sound that could be the sensors on the pads.
However, when I apply a little bit of brake, the sound is gone.
I can hear it on the left and right side when I have my windows down.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe

Re: L400 brakes
if you apply the brake and the sound is gone (scraping sound) then you're correct. replace brake pads time and check rotors (machine/replace if needed)
Re: L400 brakes
Don't mess around. Inspect your brakes. Look at pad thickness and rotor condition, look for evidence of brake fluid leaks. You can do this yourself, or...
You can probably get a free inspection if you have a regular mechanic or if you pull into a brake and muffler shop for an estimate. Any oil change place will do a (less qualified) visual inspection as part of the typical service.
