Confirmation: Parking Brake line

Post by lettereleven »

Congrats to me ... I changed the Rear diff fluid with no issues today. Not a big deal for most, but for me, its exciting.

However, while I was under there, I noticed a broken hose. Could someone confirm if this is the parking brake line? (its the red one). If its not, what line is it? I checked the service manual, and couldnt really tell.

Over the last while, I have noticed that my parking brake is lousy (pretty much useless). I adjusted the tension nut at the handbrake, but it didnt do much. Assuming this broken hose is parking brake, perhaps its an easy fix (replace hose).

Thanks again!

J

Thats your rear diff breather. i wouldn't go through any tire deep water until you replace that hose.

Thank you sir!

Do you per chance know the Inner Dimension for the hose?

I guess it was wishful thinking to hope that this would have cured my parking brake issues. No matter ;)

Thanks again.

6mm or so, I think. Just remove it and measure or take it in the store with you.
