I need help with my TPS

A TPS in this case is used to tell the transmission what position the throttle is at. In new generation vehicles it is actually part of the engine control and the TPS signal is sent out on a can bus to the trans control modual. These older units still have mechanicly controlled throttles but the transmissions are all electronic so the TPS is the link where before they used cables or vaccum pressure for throttle position.
