Life's been a bit busy so sorry for the delay in response.

Thank you for the link on dealing with the alternator! I too have a bit of an oil leak and there's some info in that link regarding some small seal. I'll cross my fingers that's all it is in the end.

So I'll be seeing if the alternator is fried. Then pulling out that auto starter (no I don't know if it's a complete system - I'm pulling it out as I have no details on the thing). Hopefully this will "clean up" all the wires under there as it doesn't look like it was done professionally and god only knows what power sources they spliced into or how. The stereo which looks pretty new last power shortly after buying it so that tells me something is up in that area.

Relative to the auto starter there is a box coming from underneith the dash with some buttons on it. That's about it.

Relative to 12v vs 24v...it's got 2 batteries so I'm assuming everything is 24 v.

So thank you to everyone...it gives me a bunch of things to look into.

Nope it will be 12 volts, batteries are hooked up in parallel so more storage same voltage.

So.... It turns out it was the alternator. Had to have it rebuilt which wasn't too bad considering it's a truck. And the wiring was !@#$'ed under there, in fact according to the mechanic (here in Calgary who owns one...if anyone is interested) told me it looked quasi hard wired to the batteries. Probably not totally but enough that it wasn't doing much for the batteries. So it died that one night. So if your Pajero/Deli starts doing strange electrical shit...check your alternator.
Side note...the stereo was a combo of the alternator, geri-rigged wiring and the antena wire not being hooked up.

Part 2. Now since the alternator is working properly it has potentially boiled my 11v glow plugs (push button system). So I'm going to replace them with 12v (little more durable) as I like the manual system.

Is there a NAPA/North Amer part number for the 12v plugs?? Anyone? I've been looking all over and can't find it yet. Have the 6.2 but NAPA can't reference that to 12v. :(
