We listen to the news in Canada and we hear about the Tamils in Sri Lanka ~ I didn't realise that there were also Sinhalese ~ please accept my apologies, evidentally I still have much to learn.

Regarding the battery terminals, it doesn't take much to create a corrosion barrier on them and it can be something that is not seen by the naked eye. Anyway, that is only one option, I'm sure the mechanics at Mitsubishi Sri Lanka will find the cause and I look forward to hearing more about it... smiles.

By the way, do you know what the engine designation is in your wagon? I assumed that it was the 4D56T, like mine, but if it's a 2011 model then maybe it's not.

Falco.

It is 4D56 too, but not have 'T' in the end, means that it is a 4D56 non turbo engine.

Few days ago, I went to Mitsubishi Service Centre, and told them about my problem.
Then they cleaned injectors and re corrected the valve tappet clearance and told me problem is fixed.
But today I noticed that, problem still remains. Also I forgot to tell you that a black liquid comes out(a little) from exhaust pipe(seems to be water, not sure). It remains also.

what kind of a problem that can be.
:-( :-(

P.S: It has a Diesel engine

Hello, just curious how long does it take for the smoking and rough idle to disappear? Also the black liquid could be water depending if you have a catalytic converter. I am also curious you say we have the same engine as you but yours lack a turbo, do you know what type of injection system you have, like injection pump style or common rail?

Dustin

Nearly after 5 minutes, smoking and rough idle disappears(when engine is hot). I don't know exactly whether It has a catalyst converter or not. Is there any way to find it ?
And also, fuel injection system is ordinary injection pump style, not common rail.

Thanks for the reply. :-)

P.S : Sorry about my English. :-(

My bet is a faulty glow plug or a glow plug circuit issue (including a possibly faulty engine temperature sensor. Does your dashboard temperature gauge appear to show an accurate engine temperature? Also, and this is very unlikely but will say it anyway... can you look at the glow plugs and determine if they are genuine Mitsubishi or not? I know the van is new, but maybe somehow they got swapped out for a considerably-less-expensive aftermarket set. Stranger things have happened in countries where a set of genuine Mitsu glow plugs = a week or two's wages.
Best of luck!

glow plug circuit and temperature gauge seems to be OK.
But, have to find that, are glow plugs original.
thanks for the reply bro...... :-)

Do you have a multi meter at your disposal. If so you could measure the ohms of each glow plug and see if any one varies could have a weak one. After it warms up do you have any power issues, I ask this cause i wonder if the the fuel system is sucking a bit of air and it takes a bit to prime the system and gives you a rough start up. Another question after you have driven a while does it start and run fine after a 10, 15, ,30 min break?

Just trying to get a bigger picture
