I used the Cummins filters with my bypass system when I first installed it but was told they would need to be changed at 10,000k instead of 20,000km if you use the Amsoil ones!?

I ran the Amsoil dual bypass system, not just an adapter. This means you have a primary filter and a secondary filter. (2 total) The primary was the mopar filter...typical truck diesel filter only slightly larger for a cummins motor, good for 5-10k, the secondary was the Amsoil unit which had almost twice the capacity, good for 15-25k and five times the filtration. (and cost) This broke down to replacing the secondary filter every 4-5 oil changes. I ran it a little longer. Added over a quart to the stock oil capacity.

If one were to run this kit and relocate the oil filter you could use just about any oil filter in place of the standard Fuso one which is quite expensive. Does anyone have a suggestion for inexpensive replacement filters that are just as good and about the same size? The Oz forum has a few filters, but those ones that they talk about are not available in North America from what I can see.

Basically, you'll just need to go to an autoparts store and size up their cheapest filters. The Fram filter for the Dodge cummins is just slightly bigger and costs $13.

That was a good idea! Cummins filters do run about $13 or so, and I think I will use this:

in case someone comes across this tread and the posting has expired. It is a fit with the 26 mm adapter.

Now that I am looking more closely at this adapter; how would one hook up a npt pressure sender?

Given that pressure senders are sort of bulbous like these:

How would you make it fit? A short steel npt cable?

I ordered the whole kit from Jackmaster. The guy was great; even calling me a few times from Oz to make sure all was in order.

Which are only $6.00 each! And, it is apparently also possible to install an Amsoil filter on this setup too. However, I think I will put on a centrifuge filter instead.

I am still waiting on all the bits - I will be creating a separate thread dedicated to this install and all the associated components.

One of the issues I can see is the mounting and draining of the Centrifuge. I am looking for options if you can think of any.

You will notice it is quite large, and it is gravity fed. It seems that the Cummins people mount it on the oil filler cap - which works for their engine, but I doubt it will work for the space under the hood of the Delica.

Since the oil must gravity feed back, I am looking at using a drain to the oil pan; but I need to figure out how to configure that large hole to mount to an oil line. So far I don't have any good ideas.

pull the oil pan and drill a hole in it an put the return line (like the L300 from the vacuum pump on the alternator)? That is what I would do...not sure if you need to lift the motor to get the pan out on the L400?

Isn't That line under pressure after exiting the turbo?

My Fram filters (at $5.99 each!) arrived today. Here are some comparison photos.

The Genuine Mitsubishi, is obviously the largest, it is also the most massive by a large margin. If I can find a scale I will weigh them. The Mitsubishi filter even outweights 2 of the Fram filters, it is extremely hefty! The Boshi is heavier than a single Fram, but lighter than the Mitsu.

The plan is to use two Fram filters in parallel, and a bypass filter for the finer stuff.
