Probably is safest to store directly on the Wiki site.

If there was ever a change in URLs on this site (http://www.delica.ca), all "linked" photos on the Wiki would be lost (or somebody would have to hunt around for all of the new URLs and edit the Wiki in every spot where a link appears). Unlikely to happen, but would be a royal pain if it did!

EricN wrote:Ok just a quick thought. Is it safe to just cut and paste images directly out of the FAQ section? I am not much of a computer guy but the last wiki page I had where I did that same thing, all the links that I had disappeared over time as they were moved or something. Is it better to save each picture then upload it to the wiki so it stays there?
Use your judgement. If you upload the image to the wiki, you know it'll be there as long as the wiki is there. If you link to other sites, you're dependent on them. I just linked to a picture for the boost pressure adjustment page. You can see what I did here:

http://wikrad.com/delica/?boost_pressure_adjustment

The images here on this forum should be stable, so I think linking here is fine.

Who ever did this page http://wikrad.com/delica/index.cgi?part_numbers would you be offended if I completely re-organized it as such
PART NUMBERS
Engine parts
-Filters
--oil
--air
--fuel
-Timing Belt and seals
--Timing belt
--Balancer belt
--crank seal
--cam seal
--balancer seal
--valve cover
-Glow Plugs
--####
bla bla bla

TRANSMISSION AND DRIVETRAIN
--Transmission parts
---filter
---gasket
--Drivetrain
---Ujoints
---CVJoints

Brakes and Suspension
--Front Brakes
---Calipers
---Pads
---Rotors
--Rear Brakes
---Shoes
---Drums
---Wheel Cylinders
--suspension
---Balljoint upper
---Balljoint lower
---Shocks

Body
-Lighting
--Headlights
--Tail lights

You get the idea
It just seems brutal to try and read it in the FAQ, I would like to try and organize it how it would be at a parts store, and since I work at a shop, I think I could try and copy that system.

It's a wiki, dude. Be bold!

I just put that page there as a guideline - but I think you'll know a good format better than me.

Cheers,
Luke

If you establish the format, I would like to help you fill out the part numbers. It would be great to confirm which part numbers have been obtained in Canada and which are part numbers from out of the country - ay'know that cause the part counter guys (and gals) to stare at you like 'what turnip truck did this dude fall off of'.

Who the hell ever put together such a mess of part numbers!!!!!!!!!!! The moderators around here should do something about that, can't believe how anybody puts up with that.

Ciao

Sorry, wasnt a dig, it is a good as can be expected in a forum format. You can kick me in the back when I see you, although I bet it will hurt your back just as much as mine.

I have a Sister-in-law that works for Lordco in Chilliwack, so I can send her the parts page and ask her to find out what they supply. Perhaps it could even inspire them (or other companies) to stock those parts more for this growing market.

BTW, I'm really impressed with this delica community! Lots of content has been showing up on the wiki, and it's starting to be useful already! (I just learned about the wobbly seat problem) Kudos to those that have been adding content and making the structure.

Once the wiki page becomes a good enough reference, we should make a new thread in this forum pointing to the wiki page (perhaps we make it sticky? (I'm not a forum expert)).

I think this would be a good pattern in general - once the wiki content gets "good enough", we make sure to post it to the forums - this will help people find the content from both the wiki and the forums. In fact (here's a crazy idea), if this forum supports email-in posting, then we could actually email pages from the wiki into the forum to provide a searchable reference. Apologies if this sounds too social software nerdy. :)

Ok, that was the better part of my day gone. Thanks who ever filled that manual section, I was dreading that, not sure how you did it so fast.
If anyone here has any actual confirmed timing belt and balancer belt applications if you could let me know. There are so many conflicting numbers in the FAQ that I am guessing some #'s are for different years or maybe turbo/non-turbo/gas etc.

No, thank you for the work so far. Looks great. All I had to do was upload some PDFs, it sure is easier than actually typing:-)

Is there any way to change the name of a page / link without making a new page and re-doing it's content?

There sure is. In the top right, click Tools, then 'Rename Page'.

You can also click the 'Help' link in the top right to find lots of great information like this.

Eric,

I found this old post that could be helpful to you, can't remember right now who came up with the parts but he knew what he was talking about...

"Here is some orig. Mitsubishi Parts number you need:
Timing belt - MD134377
Balance Shaft belt - MD363481
Glow Plug - MD092392
Tie-rod end (Inner& outer are the same) - MB527650 "

Good luck,
Delicat
