as much as i'd like to come(i really need to talk to jay about his electrical skills), i'm going to have to decline due to a temperature sensor issue. i refuse to drive to the coast without a temperature gauge...

HI Almac, maybe we should attempt a skype with you jay? No guarantees, havent been able to get it to work, permissions maybe, maybe you and I need a tech time to set it up on my laptop. Have you got a add on dashboard thingy guage that measure the temp at the exhaust, I love mine, at first i thought it was just more Jay Bling, but it reacts instantly when driving, so now I know how much to let off the pedal and how slow to drive to keep from overheating.

Too bad you can't be here, but you know that anytime you get here, we will do a SPECIAL Almac Deli Meet.

a special meet for me isn't neccessary.. really. lol. :?
i really havent done anything worth showing off... really.

i have a pyro, that i haven't wired/installed gauge yet. fortunately i was given a triple gauge pod :-) , so now i have to move some gauges around, install the pyro and a voltmeter(with a switch), and run the wires. i'm thinking about a better fuse block/panel(bluesea) mounted on the b pillar behind the passenger seat.
my temp sensor is blown. wires are still connected(dennis & i checked).

what i really need jay's help with is the horrible nest of wires i have in my battery compartment(its pretty scary in there), and an odyssey battery install.
it will happen one of these days, i'm sure.

Ohhh Almac, wish you were here. Jay could so easily fix all the wiring stuff, while you and I supervise a nice bottle of white wine.

My pyro is just velcroed in front of my eyes on the dash, simple and effective, way easier than mucking about with pod. Jay installed it, and blanked off the egr. I dont need the alarm as I see the alarm light right in front of me..that tiny blue light is painfully bright, and my foot jumps off the accelerator pedal instantly.

If you havent bought the odyssey battery yet, then don't. Strongly I say just buy lead acid, then you will replace it sooner when it starts to die, versus the expensive battery, which will die before you expect, and you won't replace it quickly because you say "well it can't be the battery as its still new-ish" so now the dying battery kills the alternator, which you replace, and that stillllll dying battery kills the next alternator, and STILL you don't believe me when I say just buy a Edmonds Burnaby custom lead acid battery with heavy inner plates made in a combination deep cycle and starting battery, in a size 31 or 32 rather than the prissy little 24 series size. I love those big CCA Cold Cranking Amps. Ohhhh I am exhausted thinking about the future emails. My Cuz'n Dennis can probably get you a decent professional quality battery from his work suppliers.

As for fuse panel, Jay will be glad you use his favourite BlueSeas brand. Can you mount elsewhere than B pillar, so easy for crap and curtains to touch fuse there.

Remember, always put fuse as close to battery as possible. Less length for burning wire to melt nearby wires. Other places maybe for the fuse panel? On the flat metal plate under the passenger seat (you know, that piece of metal with stickers from CVI, where you put tools when working on engine) there could be room, although Jay didnt put any there yet, so maybe there is a reason. There is room also behind glove box, just unscrew it, lots of space there, but harder to access to change a fuse.

What temp sensor is wrong? You mean the 2 prong coolant sensor just near front of engine? that tells the glow plugs when to preheat the fuel on cold mornings (which makes it hard to start the engine on cold mornings if not working). Or the other sensor is the single wire one, that just reads out to the display guage, but only after you have overheated the engine. Just use the pyro instead, way faster response time, and digitally accurate reading of the exhaust temps. So you need me to source a part and mail to you, altho I am sure My Cuz'n Dennis is a superb enabler for you.

Anyway, enuf of my sidetracking the topic... I expect the moderator will start deleting my posts YET AGAIN to prove they have some modicum of control over this forum.

Hugs, Christine.

Really? But what better way to celebrate your anniversary than eating exotic Swedish meatballs surrounded by really cool Starwagons and Space Gears!

Happy Anniversary!

I don't recall anyone taking pictures, but I'm sure nxski has a lump on his head that matches a dented ceiling tile in the parkade. That should be proof enough :-D It was a really good time though, I enjoyed meeting more of the gang.

Luckily ceiling tiles are soft and not static. :-D
