Hey Doug, congrats on the van purchase! You PM'ed me on the Toyota Van forum. Glad to see you're having good experiences with the van. I'm hoping to get at least one of mine on the road soon. I have an owners manual and my local library has I think an '87 service manual set(I've slowly built my own copy when I need something). If you are looking for something specific from either, I may be able to scan and email it to you.

Thank you! I'm having a great time driving this Van around. In a few thousand miles it has consistently delivered 18-19mpg each tank, it is actually fun to drive, and people think its kinda cool. I've had some issues with the cracking exhaust manifold, and happily discovered the Mighty Max 2.0L manifold is identical. So I yanked a couple at the u-pull for $15 each. Quiet exhaust now and a spare for the future.

I will keep your offer in mind - I have not been able to find either an owner's manual or a factory service manual so I feel kinda like I'm flying blind some times. Thanks!!!

Is it 4WD? Thankfully Toyota's aren't as hard to find as Mitsu's so the local Pick-n-Pull usually has one or two. Thanks for the offer though.

I think it is a 2WD, but will double check next time I'm there. The weather is nice, so I'm going to be out there.

I'd let that one fester a bit. 750 for a salvage title? On a non runner? Missing some seats? Not to put too fine a point on it but that's a "$150-come-tow-it-away" car at best.

Wow, I guess I need to go to Idaho to buy cars. While I certainly wouldn't pay the asking price, a salvage title for what was purely a monetary total loss doesn't concern me(Nearly every car I own has a salvage title for similar reasons). The non-running problem sounds fairly simple to me plus I have a complete cargo for parts. No seats just seems like a good excuse for a full camper conversion:) It's also an '89 with full shoulder belts that will easily swap to my '88 which happens to be the same interior and exterior color or I could get this one running and swap the seats and slider out of my '88 then use the '88 for parts to get the '90 cargo fixed up. Oh the endless possibilities! Just out of curiosity, If you don't mind me asking that is, what did you have to pay for yours?

I paid $250 for mine. It wasn't for sale, sat in a sheep pen for a year with the sheep. I came by 3 times over a year's time not in a hurry. Bought it and owner said it runs. Would start but tranny oil empty so no drive. So I put a temp patch on that has now lasted 3000 miles and drove it home after filling trans. She's a good ship. Oil pan off this evening for some very tiny dents with a hole that leaked oil out. Will have her refilled in a couple days, freshly painted pan and new filters n magnets. Let me know if you get it -- might buy some spares from you. But start low - like 150 bucks. Those are a lot of negatives for the sellor to get over , ya know?
