Flawless reliability, decent gas mileage, smiles and thumbs up everywhere I go. All of my friends want one now, too! The woods of the Pacific Northwest are my oyster.
The only caveat I would warn would-be Delica owners of, that I don't think comes up enough, is the power, or lack thereof. These vans are dogs. If you're trying to get anywhere in a hurry, forget about it. That said, I've embraced the right-lane lifestyle and enjoy just getting there when I get there. I mostly take it on trips, so the lack of pep doesn't bother me much.
If you ever want to check out a van in person, let me know! I wish I had seen one before I ordered one from Japan, even if it only would have made me want one more.
I'm on a cross country(US) trip and I've learned to use my blinkers on steep inclines and wave at folks when they drive by. Most wave back and even slow down to check out the van :)
Feel free to add yourself to the map for US delica owners. I believe you have a neighbor there based on the map.

Hey ntmokey! Sorry for my late response. Just saw this now. I'm so happy to hear the Delica has been a success for you! That's awesome
Yea, the lack of power had been a real concern for me but I spoke to local Delica owner on the phone the other day and, maybe it was just being able to talk to someone about it, my concern went down a notch. I actually just test drove a Delica over at Oregon Diesel imports up on 82nd last weekend. It was a blast to drive. Like driving a small funky bus
Thanks for the invite to see your Delica in person btw. If I decide to take you up on that I'll PM you.

I believe there is an L300 in the Sellwood area, as I've seen it turn down a side street a couple of times on the way home from my work. I also saw one off of Belmont on Saturday. Don't know if the owner lives there, but saw it parked.

FYI, this is where I bought my Delica about a month ago. Had a great experience with them.

Yea, Crankshaft. They seem like great people over there. I'm leaning toward purchasing a Delica through vanlifenorthwest.com. I've had multiple conversations with the guy who runs it and I like his process.
